Sample Requests

Please note that sample requests are shipped free of charge unless otherwise stated.

Sample requests will be shipped the same or next working day in the vast majority of cases.

We are very happy to supply free samples to all customers making a serious enquiry. We would however respectfully ask that sample requests should not be made if the end use is for a craft project such as making a patchwork quilt, or in other words no intention of placing an eventual order. This has occurred on several occasions now and only results in wasted expense on our part.

Jumbo samples will be sent folded in an envelope via Royal Mail. These are not tracked or insured.

Bulk Fabric Orders

Fabric orders will be shipped via UPS for next working day delivery. Modelli aim to ship bulk orders same day if received before noon, depending on stock availability. Our warehouse operates Monday - Friday so customers should be aware that orders placed late on Friday may not leave until the following Monday.

Standard UK Delivery

Our standard carriage charge of £8.75 applies to all orders received, regardless of weight or quantity, and applies to deliveries made within the UK. Since we use third party suppliers to carry our goods, we cannot be responsible for failure to deliver on time, delivery to an incorrect address or loss of goods in transit. Customers are strongly advised to inform us at point of order if there are any special considerations to take into account when delivering goods - i.e., if an address is particularly difficult to find, if using GPS may be misleading, if a particular delivery is more convenient than another etc. We do however send bulk orders out tracked and insured.

Deliveries will require a signature. Therefore if clients will only be available on certain days they should advise at point of ordering which day is preferred for delivery. We can arrange for goods to be sent to a workplace, direct to an upholsterer or to a neighbour if this is required.

In all cases, customers will be informed as soon as possible about potential delays.

Goods will be shipped in one parcel up to a weight of 31kg, and any order over this amount will be split into more than one parcel.

Fabric is supplied to Modelli in rolls averaging 40-45m in length. Orders for a single article which exceed this may be cut from two rolls from the same batch in order to give colour continuity. If sufficient stock from the same batch is unavailable at the point of order customers will be advised accordingly.

The above information is valid for sample requests or regular orders placed Mon-Fri, bank holidays excluded.

Extended Area Surcharge

Providing service to and from less populated or accessible domestic and international areas carries higher operating costs. The extended and remote area surcharges are assessed to more accurately reflect the cost of providing service to these areas.

This means that a shipping surcharge applies to goods delivered to the following postcode areas - the total delivery cost is £14.25 regardless of quantity. There is nothing we can do to avoid this, unfortunately. If we are able to ship to a postcode which is not included on this list then our standard rate of £8.75 applies. It might be possible for you to specify a delivery address which falls outside the surcharge area if for example, you need us to send fabric straight to an upholsterer or if you have friends or family who would be able to bring fabric to you when visiting.
